Job Title: R&D Verification & Validation EngineerJob Description
As an R&D Verification and Validation Engineer, you will plan and execute design verification and validation activities. Your role will ensure regulatory compliance by inspecting, measuring, analyzing, auditing, calibrating, and testing instrumentation, equipment, software/hardware, machines, and/or procedures. You will identify problems and their sources, correcting them efficiently, while creating and documenting an evidence trail to demonstrate that testing procedures and protocols are accurate and follow regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
+ Lead test method development activities for test method verifications and validations, including test fixture design, equipment acquisition, equipment qualifications, and hardware/software validation.
+ Test and evaluate new and existing products of moderate to advanced complexity, interpreting data and evaluating product performance to verify product requirements and design inputs.
+ Execute the development of verification and validation protocols, issuing reports for regulatory audits, submissions, and requests.
+ Manage assigned projects, establish appropriate timelines, and ensure that deadlines/project goals are met.
+ Analyze test results and lead product design and failure investigations.
+ Determine the root cause of defects, safety risks, and performance problems, providing risk assessments and identifying mitigating factors.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in test method validation, verification & validation, and testing protocols.
+ Experience in medical device industry.
+ Expertise in root cause investigations to determine defects and performance problems.
+ Capability to set up acceptance criteria and use analysis software.
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent knowledge.
+ At least 2 years of experience with verification or validation processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions.
+ Experience evaluating information to determine compliance with standards, laws, and regulations.
Work Environment
The role is based in a collaborative team environment with 14 other engineers. You will work closely with technicians in the lab as well as other engineers. The team has experienced significant growth, doubling in size over the past two years, and the company has expanded its lab facilities.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Mundelein, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $50.00/hr.
