Job Summary:
The radiologic technologist will participate primarily in vascular angiography and interventions under the direction of the Vascular Surgeons and Cardiologists following hospital policies and procedures. Procedures could also include, but are not limited to cardiac interventions, biopsies, non vascular interventions, intraoperative procedures, and pain management procedures. The technologist will greet patients, explain procedures, position patients and set proper exposure factors in order to obtain the required quality radiograph maintaining radiation safety. The technologist will be responsible for daily operation of radiology equipment and QA in the Heart and Vascular Institute. They will possess the knowledge base to operate imaging equipment efficiently and effectively in order to obtain quality studies and report any malfunctions of equipment to their supervisor, as well as having a working knowledge of procedure inventory and supplies. They will be responsible for processing images and inputting information into required information systems for documentation and billing purposes. The preferred candidate will work in collaboration with nursing staff to care for patients in the Heart and Vascular Institute.
Minimum Qualifications:
AAS in Radiologic Technology or equivalent, NYS license/registration and ARRT (must obtain within 1 year of appointment), plus current CPR certification required.
*Candidates who possess an A.A.S in Radiologic Technology or equivalent, NYS license/registration or eligible, and no experience will be considered for appointment to an entry level (SL1 or SL2) position at a commensurate salary.
Preferred Qualifications:
One year experience as a radiologic technologist preferred, Cath lab/Interventional radiology experience preferred
Work Days:
Monday through Friday daytime hours with on call requirements
