Microsoft Teams is at the forefront of transforming collaboration. We are seeking a highly experienced **Principal** **Product Manager** to help us shape how AI agents work in Teams. In this role, you will own the vision, strategy, and execution of a critical part of the Teams ecosystem that empowers developers to build intelligent, scalable agents—ranging from AI-powered assistants to automated task agents.
You will work cross-functionally with engineering, design, marketing, and partner teams to deliver new AI-driven extensibility solutions that enhance the depth of the Teams experience for millions of users and our developer partners.

Responsibilities
+ Define and communicate the long-term vision and strategy for enabling agents on the Microsoft Teams platform.
+ Develop a comprehensive product roadmap that aligns with Microsoft’s broader cloud and collaboration strategies.
+ You will define a feature set and facilitate senior-level discussions with customers and developers. You’ll own the roadmap for multiple feature areas across divisions and will collaborate closely with partner teams.
+ Collaborate with engineering and UX teams to design, build, and launch scalable platform solutions that accelerate the creation and deployment of agents.
+ Oversee the complete product lifecycle—from ideation and requirements gathering to development, launch, and continuous improvement.
+ Influence others to drive business impact across the organization and track success criteria for multiple feature areas across divisions.
+ You’ll also be an expert in identifying long-term investment opportunities and engaging partners to gain support for those feature areas.
+ Lead cross-organizational teams, working closely with internal stakeholders (including engineering, security, compliance, and operations) to ensure product quality, scalability, and alignment with Microsoft’s architectural standards.
+ Drive alignment between teams on critical initiatives, acting as the primary liaison between business, technical, and partner organizations.
+ Partner with Product Marketing to create GTM plans, and you’ll take advantage of major opportunities to promote the feature areas you worked on and present at large events.
+ Advocate for developers by gathering feedback, identifying pain points, and translating these into actionable platform improvements.
+ Champion best practices and foster a community around the use of Microsoft Teams as a platform for building intelligent agents, including providing thought leadership in developer experiences.
+ Establish key performance metrics and success criteria to monitor and optimize the infrastructure’s performance, cost, and reliability.
+ Proactively manage risks, mitigate issues, and continuously drive improvements to ensure a seamless developer experience and high service reliability.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ Demonstrated success in leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives within cloud or collaboration software environments.
+ Strong technical background with the ability to engage deeply with engineering teams, understand architectural trade-offs, and drive strategic technical decisions.
+ Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with experience in translating technical details to business and executive audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field AND 10+ years of experience in program or product management.
+ 4+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (e.g., design, addressing product market fit, and launch, internal tool/framework).
+ 6+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
+ 6+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).
+ Experience with building and launching developer platforms, infrastructure, or tooling in enterprise-scale environments.
+ Prior experience with Microsoft Teams or similar collaboration platforms.
+ Familiarity with AI agent frameworks, conversational interfaces, or related developer tooling.
+ Proven ability to innovate and drive change in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
