You’ll be working in the Cloud and AI Platforms Monetization organization in the group that is focused on building the future of Education and Industry with a focus on offerings tailored to the needs of particular industry verticals. We are looking for a Business Planner to develop business strategies, compelling monetization approaches, and effective packaging and pricing approaches to capture mindshare and create profitable growth.
Your role will focus on our cross-Industry offerings, developing and implementing strategies and offers for industries (including but not limited to Education, Retail, Financial Services, Energy, and Agriculture) to build preference and profit growth. This work will build on and connect to the broader Industry initiatives while addressing the unique requirements in each particular vertical. You will also work to create frameworks and strategies that cross all the industries Microsoft supports, with a focus on agentic AI.

Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include:
+ Growth Plans and Priorities – Work across the product management unit to develop the key strategic initiatives for growth. Define and document business strategies with the targeted audiences and ensure the initiatives are aligned with those strategies and are well understood and prioritized across teams.
+ Monetization Approach – Define how we maximize business value for Microsoft aligned to the growth plan. Develop the approach for how Microsoft monetizes space including building and optimizing freemium and paid acquisition and growth strategies.
+ Packaging and Pricing – Deliver the specific packaging, pricing, licensing, and offers that define what customers actually buy. Define and deliver plans for specific offers, SKUs, and other packaging options to implement the monetization approach.
+ Transactability and Execution – Drive at scale execution and create a coherent customer experience in support of the business. Leverage existing team processes, ensure Microsoft delivers a coherent customer experience across offers and channels.
+ Monetization Impact – Focus on what is delivering real results through close proximity to the business. Develop and share insights on what is working and what is not working to achieve business outcomes to enhance go-forward strategies.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
+ 3+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 1+ years of experience leading or working in monetization strategy.
+ Experience driving projects and build executive buy-in and support for key projects.
Additional or preferred qualifications
+ 5+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related field
+ OR 3+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), or related field
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ Experience working across diverse stakeholders to define and execute strategic initiatives with passion, precision, and effectiveness.
+ Possess analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to synthesize data from multiple sources to drive data-driven decisions.
+ Ability to leverage business judgement and strategic thinking complemented with a bias for action and execution/operational excellence.
Business Planning IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $85,100 - $169,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $112,000 - $185,300 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
