Process Engineer II

The Process Engineer II performs complex process engineering work under the guidance of a Sr. Manufacturing Manager. The Process Engineer will own dedicated areas of manufacturing and support departments. The PE will also offer support in other areas ensuring technical competence and compliance with all current criteria.
Responsibilities:
+ Performs research, design, and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.
+ Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors. Coordinates the required quotes from several vendors, reviews quotes and makes necessary recommendations based on the lowest and best bid, competency of vendors, consultants and selection criteria.
+ Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
+ Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
+ Assures product and process quality by testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
+ Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
+ Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
+ Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
+ Maintains product and process database by writing computer programs, entering data.
+ Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
+ Designs, develop and tests and/or sources and cost-justify various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
+ Write procedures / standard work, as needed, to detail the specific instructions to produce quality products.
+ Interface with Production, Production Administration and Maintenance departments on quality, scheduling, process, and production issues **.**
Basic Qualifications
+ Bachelor degree in engineering
+ 2 + years of demonstrated experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Project Management
+ Minimum of 1 year of experience in process engineering function
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering
+ Six Sigma or Lean Certification
+ Understanding of business cost structure
+ Industrial Manufacturing experience
+ Strong Microsoft Office skills (including Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint) for report generation, general communications, and appropriate presentations.
+ SAP, AutoCAD, Solidworks, Inventor, Minitab or Tableau
Work Environment:
+ Work is performed in both office and manufacturing setting.
+ While performing the duties of the job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk; lift greater than or equal to 20lbs.
+ The employee may be required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
