    Criminal Justice Coordinating Council

     

    The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) is administratively attached to GBI. CJCC is legislatively charged with eleven areas of criminal justice coordination. Among those responsibilities is to serve as the statewide clearinghouse for criminal justice information & research. Develop criminal justice legislative & executive policy proposals; & serve in an advisory compacity to the Governor on issues impacting the criminal justice system. CJCC plans & administers tens of millions of dollars in federal criminal justice and victim services grants.

    Job Summary: Under supervision, audits, examines, and analyzes documents and reimbursement records to determine the financial condition or compliance with guidelines for Federal and State Grants of an assigned organization or program. In a learning capacity, prepares financial reports concerning operating procedures.

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

    + Complies and documents background information, prepares analyses or correspondence, and/or calculates obligations, penalties, or monies owed

    + Completes selected portions of audits as part of an audit team, or may complete routine audits

    + Conducts auditing of grant related expenditures, documents, policies, etc., and determines scope of investigation required

    + Inspects account books and accounting or financial computer systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and use of accepted accounting procedures to record transactions

    + Prepares and maintains databases, evidence, files, and confidential documents

    + Prepares or assists in the preparation of reports (i.e. case reports, audits findings, asset utilization, recommended changes in operations or financial activities)

    + Research financial histories, previous payments, balance sheet details or prior audit findings

    + Reviews and examines contracts, tax reports, ledgers or other financial or performance-related records to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud or noncompliance with applicable laws and regulations

    + Become thoroughly familiar with all materials related to subgrantee grant parameters, policies, etc.

    + Conduct in person site visits (assigned areas are located within the state of Georgia)

    + May assist (but not required) to assist in Grant Writing process

    + Provide technical information, resolutions, and problem resolution for Grant related activities

     

    Preferred Competencies: Experience in Financial Auditing, Fiscal Analysis, Expenditure Analysis, High Quality Customer Service Driven, Exceptional Attention to Detail & Accuracy, Analytical, Efficient

     

    Required: 25% Travel
