About the Role

Our TEKsystems client in the financial services industry is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support the VP of Networking in maintaining and evolving a secure, high-performance enterprise network. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead infrastructure initiatives, mentor a small team, and contribute to cloud migration and automation efforts.

Key Responsibilities

+ Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls.

+ Develop and enforce network security policies in compliance with financial regulations (e.g., PCI DSS, SOX, NYDFS).

+ Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, and application teams to support hybrid cloud integration.

+ Monitor network performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement proactive solutions.

+ Lead and mentor a small networking team, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.

+ Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve network resiliency, automation, and security.

+ Provide escalation support for critical network issues and ensure 24/7 operational readiness.

Required Qualifications

+ 10+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking.

+ Deep expertise in Cisco technologies: switches, routers, firewalls.

+ Strong understanding of network security frameworks and compliance standards.

+ Proven leadership experience, including mentoring and project management.

+ Excellent troubleshooting, optimization, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Experience with AWS networking (VPC, Transit Gateway, Security Groups, NACLs).

+ Familiarity with Azure networking and hybrid cloud connectivity (Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, SD-WAN).

+ Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

+ Exposure to container networking (Kubernetes, EKS/AKS).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $80.00/hr.
