• Systems Administrator

    ManTech (Lothian, MD)


    **MANTECH** seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented **Systems Administrator** to join our team in **Patuxent River, MD.** This is an **on-site** position.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    + Create software applications, test and evaluate applications, and tweak and improve applications to make them user-friendly

    + Assist in the definition, development, testing, analysis, and maintenance of new or existing software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements. This may include writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications

    + Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis

    + Update software or enhance existing software capabilities. May work with computer hardware engineers to integrate hardware and software systems and develop specifications and performance requirements

    + May maintain databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team

    + Assist in deploying and maintaining Linux-based systems (e.g., Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.10, Ubuntu) to support high availability and performance

    + Write and maintain basic automation scripts using tools like Ansible, Bash, Powershell, or Python to streamline system tasks

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in technical or business discipline with 4+ years of systems administration or similar professional experience, or an Associate’s degree with 8+ years of experience, or a High School Diploma with 10+ years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree

    + Experience with Linux virtualization platforms (e.g.,Hyper-v, VMware)

    + Experience with enterprise storage systems (e.g., NetApp ONTAP, Ceph)

    + Experience with cybersecurity compliance, including Linux STIGs and vulnerability management tools (e.g., Nessus, Evaluate-STIG, OpenSCAP)

    + Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Bash, Python, Powershell)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience with DoD or Navy cybersecurity mandates

    + Certifications such as Linux+, CompTIA Security+, or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)

    + Basic knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) in Linux environments

    Clearance Requirements:

    + Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an active or current Top Secret Clearance

    Physical Requirements:

    + The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

    + Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication.
