Job Description
This position is responsible for managing the product development efforts of the Food and Spirits/Wine segments within RPSNA. The role will lead teams of engineering and technical professionals responsible for the execution of multiple projects, ensuring that product requirements and human and capital resources are aligned to meet objectives.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
+ Plan and oversee new product development programs and improvements to existing products, focusing on cost, timelines, resource allocation and quality.
+ Provide technical leadership across engineering disciplines and coordinate with business functional groups to resolve complex technical issues.
+ Develop resource plans and ensure proper allocation of resources for successful project completion.
+ Develop and lead technology and product roadmaps for the Food and Spirits segments.
+ Align product development priorities with business objectives and commercial strategies.
+ Recommend and implement department goals and cost controls; manage budgets and understand financial measures that govern business success.
+ Identify and resolve problems without clear precedent using analytical thinking and by defining tools and techniques for successful job completion.
+ Promote Amcor technologies and define value propositions for Food and Spirits products.
+ Guide the direction of new products and approaches needed to achieve results.
+ Make project and group‑related decisions; negotiate scope changes and influence strategy.
+ Manage a team of direct reports, including employee selection, development, mentoring and performance management.
+ Cultivate an environment of safety, high performance, and ethical and legal compliance; address employee relations issues.
+ Travel may be required (approx. 10–20%).
Qualifications
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
+ Minimum of 6 years’ experience working with injection and blow molding equipment, tooling and processing, and knowledge of statistical methods for data analysis.
+ At least 2 years of experience managing others in a supervisory capacity.
+ Technical expertise and general knowledge of business functions, with specific knowledge related to development of rigid packaging for the Food and Spirits market segments, including injection molding, ISBM (1‑step and 2‑step), extrusion blow molding and performance packaging.
+ Strong skills to understand, influence, drive and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
+ Ability to explain the implications of engineering work and communicate effectively across functions.
+ Demonstrated integrity, strategic and innovative thinking, team leadership, strategic influencing, development orientation and interpersonal understanding.
+ Understanding of industry trends and how they apply to customers.
+ Advanced degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Science or related field preferred.
