With a positive attitude, strong leadership techniques, and with minimal oversight, the Quality Manager - Engineering leads all plant audits, quality activities and supports the operations organization. The successful candidate will work in conjunction with other team members to improve customer satisfaction and reduce cost of quality through waste reduction and process control. The Quality Manager - Engineering will report directly to the Quality Director.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
+ Lead in improving processes using statistics and data analysis techniques
+ Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities. These activities are proactive, rather than reactive, in nature. Subjects of continuous improvement activities suggestions to eliminate waste in process, and quality improvement/ variation reduction initiatives
+ Lead in Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action activities. Will be the lead in our CAPA system
+ Aid in establishing quality standards and communicate them to the teams involved. This activity includes a wide range of actions from establishing visual standards, boundary samples, K-cards, and single point lessons
+ Create and maintain documentation as required by the Quality System. These activities include Corrective Actions, Critical to Process, Standard Work, Standard operating procedures, Single Point lessons, and LPAs
+ Attend scheduled meetings and actively participate by providing meaningful input
+ Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions
+ Be the Quality subject matter expert with dealers, production, and customer service
+ Have strong problem solving and communication skills to assist dealers with field issues
+ Be responsible for building quality data reports, analyzing quality data, and reporting out quality data to operations and staff
+ Actively involved in design reviews as well as identifying significant and critical feature characteristics on drawings
+ Responsible for Quality Alert System and escalation of quality issues to CAPA and correct parties
+ Designs and/or specifies inspection and testing equipment or correct measuring tools
+ Analyzes production limitations and standards, recommends revisions of specifications and/or process improvements (Assists with DFMEA / PFMEA)
+ Assists in the formulation of Quality Management System documentation and Control Plans
Requirements
• Experience in a manufacture assembly environment
• Source quality control & statistical process control experience
• Six Sigma required
• Certified Green and/or Black Belt preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, quality or supply chain
• Demonstrated experience with project management and team leadership is required
• BS/BA four year engineering degree or equivalent experience
