    Job Description Job Title: Compliance Auditor Position Summary:

    The Compliance Auditor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing internal audits, as well as providing support during external audits. This position evaluates the company’s adherence to regulatory guidelines, policies, and procedures, and reports findings to management. The Compliance Auditor will use various systems, databases, and analytical tools to manage audit processes and ensure operational compliance across departments.

     

    This role plays a key part in maintaining organizational integrity and compliance with Medicare and other healthcare program requirements. The Compliance Auditor collaborates closely with the Compliance Manager and other business leaders to identify risks, develop corrective action plans, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Assist the Compliance Manager in accessing and interpreting Medicare program guidelines.

    + Evaluate internal processes, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory and operational requirements.

    + Serve as an internal subject matter expert on Medicare regulations, providing guidance and interpretation to business owners to promote consistency and compliance.

    + Conduct internal compliance audits across operational departments to assess adherence to business practices and regulatory standards.

    + Monitor calls and operational activities for compliance accuracy.

    + Develop reports and corrective action plans in response to audit findings.

    + Support internal and external compliance audits, including documentation preparation and coordination.

    + Participate in regular meetings with business owners to communicate audit findings, recommendations, and improvement plans.

    + Review operational reports and documentation to identify issues, trends, and potential areas of risk.

    + Contribute to the development of compliance-related training, education, and communications.

    + Review training materials and communications created by other departments from a compliance perspective.

    + Maintain current knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and compliance best practices.

    + Perform regulatory research related to company operations and emerging compliance requirements.

    + Communicate effectively with coworkers, management, and customers in a professional and courteous manner.

    + Comply with all company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.

    Education and Experience:

    + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

    + Minimum of one (1) year of experience in healthcare (Medicare Programs), insurance, compliance, regulatory, or legal environments.

    + Experience conducting audits, performing regulatory research, or evaluating compliance with healthcare regulations.

    + Experience in billing and enrollment functions is strongly desired.

    + Equivalent combinations of education, training, and related experience may be considered.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    + Strong understanding of Medicare regulations and healthcare compliance requirements.

    + Excellent analytical, investigative, and critical-thinking skills.

    + Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory guidance to business operations.

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document findings clearly and professionally.

    + High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and audit management tools.

    + Ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments while maintaining independence in auditing functions.

    + Professional demeanor with strong ethical judgment and discretion when handling sensitive information.

    Compensation and Benefits:

    The expected base salary for this position ranges from $53,000 – $65,000 USD with a bonus target of up to 5% of the base salary. While it is not typical to offer candidates at or near the top of the range, we do consider a wide range of factors when making offer decisions, including (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, a candidate’s relevant skills, training, experience, education and where applicable, licensure and certifications obtained. We also consider organizational and market factors when making offer decisions. This range is a general guideline and represents a good faith estimate of what we would reasonably expect to pay for this position. We reserve the right to modify this range in the future as organizational and market conditions dictate.
