We have an outstanding career opportunity for anAssistant Superintendent to join a leading Company located in theO'ahu, HIsurrounding area.

We are seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support vertical construction within the Buildings Division, which includes administrative, operational, maintenance, and support facilities tied to the new dry dock. This is a hands-on role for emerging field leaders who want to gain experience on federal vertical construction projects while learning directly from seasoned superintendents. You'll be actively involved in structural concrete, steel erection, architectural finishes, and MEP coordination, ensuring full compliance with NAVFAC and EM 385-1-1 requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

Field Coordination and Leadership:

+ Support senior superintendents with day-to-day building operation s.

+ Direct subcontractors and crews across concrete, steel, interiors, and MEP scopes.

+ Assist with sequencing work to align with schedule milestones and QC requirements.

+ Monitor production, resolve field conflicts, and keep crews moving efficiently.

Safety & Compliance:

+ Enforce OSHA, EM 385-1-1, and NAVFAC safety standards.

+ Lead or support toolbox talks, hazard analyses, and safety briefings.

+ Help sustain a culture of safe work practices across vertical construction crews.

Quality Control Support:

+ Participate in the three-phase QC process for all building work.

+ Support inspections for concrete, rebar, structural steel, MEP installations, and systems commissioning.

+ Maintain QC documentation and coordinate with inspectors and Navy representative s.

Logistics & Documentation:

+ Track material deliveries, equipment usage, and manpower allocations.

+ Maintain daily logs, reports, and input for short-term look-ahead schedules.

+ Provide administrative and coordination support for close-out documentation.

Stakeholder Coordination:

+ Work closely with subcontractors, consultants, project engineers, QC staff, and Navy inspectors.

+ Communicate progress and field challenges clearly to senior leadership.

+ Ensure collaboration across building and civil teams within the JV.

Basic Hiring Criteria:

+ 5+ years of construction experience, including 2-3 years in vertical field leadership (assistant superintendent, foreman, or equivalent).

+ Strong background in building construction - concrete, steel, interiors, and/or MEP systems.

+ Experience with federal projects or secure-site construction preferred.

+ Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 safety standards (or willingness to train before assignment).

+ Proficiency in reading building drawings, specs, and federal contract requirements.

+ Microsoft Office proficiency; Primavera P6 or MS Project familiarity a plus.

+ Local Hawaiʻi construction experience strongly valued.
