Empire Disposal, a** **Waste Connections Company** **, is hiring a** **Preventative Maintenance Technician** **to support our fleet operations in** **Colfax, Washington** **.
This is an** **intermediate-level opportunity** **designed to grow into a** **Diesel Mechanic** **role. If you're mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and looking for a long-term career path, we want to hear from you!
Schedule:
Monday to Friday | 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Overtime: 1–3 hours/week on average
Compensation & Perks:
Total Starting Pay:** **$25.00 – $30.75/hour
Tool Allowance:** **$350/month
Annual Boot Allowance:** **$400
Company paid and provided CDL training

Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance on garbage trucks, trailers, and support equipment
Use fleet maintenance software to manage service records
Conduct safety inspections and maintain a clean, OSHA-compliant shop
Collaborate with drivers to identify and resolve vehicle issues
Complete repairs based on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs)
Qualifications:
At least two years of hands-on experience performing preventative maintenance in a professional environment
Background in commercial vehicle or diesel engine maintenance is highly desirable
Must hold a valid driver’s license
Required to have a personal set of basic tools and a toolbox
Comfortable using computers and diagnostic software for troubleshooting and maintenance
Brings a strong work ethic, a positive mindset, and a willingness to learn and grow in the role
