Job Description
The Manager of Partner Oversight Tooling and Strategy position is part of the Risk and Remediation team within Global Strategy and Performance team. This team focuses on driving broad process excellence and managing large risk-related initiatives for Merchant Services. The purpose of this organization is to drive global acceptance for all American Express payment solutions while delivering value to our merchants & partners simply, securely, and seamlessly.
The newly created role of Manager of Partner Oversight Tooling and Strategy will be responsible to oversee the effectiveness of the due diligence processes which assess risk and security programs of our network partners related to Compliance, Financial Crimes, Sanctions Screening, Fraud, Privacy and Infosec. This role will help define the strategy for effective controls, including the development of reporting, ensuring the appropriate tools to manage the due diligence processes, and providing change management and PMO support for implementation of program enhancements.
The role will be coordinating closely with Due Diligence Operations teams, Business Development, Product and Compliance teams as well as other subject matter experts as needed.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Developing impactful and actionable strategic recommendations for process enhancements, ensuring effective monitoring and controls across the due diligence programs, and liaising closely with Due Diligence Operations teams to ensure consistency and conduct quality checks.
-Establishing reporting that will monitor the execution, progress, and outcomes of due diligence reviews for new and existing partners.
-Developing and preparing due diligence reporting to inform Risk Forums and Committees and ensure robust governance across due diligence programs.
-Develop and manage a capability roadmap to implement the tools needed to support the due diligence processes in assessing the risk of prospect/partner, collecting and storing necessary documentation, and enabling timely/accurate tracking of outcomes.

Skills and Requirements
-10+ years in financial services industry, with experience leading and developing high performing teams
-Experience effectively managing ongoing oversight of processes, delivering consistency and efficiency in processing and reporting.
-Experience managing and documenting risks and controls.
-Experience working in Compliance or Operational Risk, with exposure to AML, Financial Crimes and Sanctions.
-Must be results oriented, and self-driven, able to operate in a fast-paced environment within the business.
-Must be rigorous and detail oriented in reviewing partner provided documents and identifying/addressing potential compliance gaps
-Must be able to take initiative in resolving complex issues, identify and solve problems in a constructive manner.
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and complete tasks in a timely manner.
-Must be able to interact with all levels in and outside the organization and present to large/senior groups in a formal setting.
-Strong administrative skills to organize and maintain a broad range of projects.
