• IT Project Manager - Security/Substations

    Job Description

    Insight Global is looking for an IT Project Manager for a large utility company to sit remotely, working EST hours. This Project Manager will be embedded within the security team to ensure adherence to project management standards while overseeing aspects of ongoing projects related to storage systems for backups and substations. All of the equipment is currently owned by the vendors who manage and control them. The main project the Project Manager would be working on is ensuring that all of the vendor-managed equipment is now being owned internally. This role involves coordinating networking initiatives such as battery backup systems, tracking IT deliverables, and serving as a liaison between business and IT teams, escalating technical matters as needed. The ideal candidate will have experience with MS Project, a strong utilities background, and preferably a PMP certification. They should be capable of taking ownership of project components and demonstrate an enthusiastic, collaborative approach that aligns with the organization’s culture.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    -8+ years experience as an IT Project Manager

     

    -Expertise managing and tracking a project using MS project

     

    -Experience overseeing a networking project specifically over substations and battery backup systems

     

    -Utilities industry experience -PMP certification
