    Job Description

    The School of Medicine (SoM) Dean’s Office has a new Recruiter opportunity to join our growing recruitment team, reporting directly to the SoM Recruiting Lead. This role plays a vital part in attracting top talent to support the UW Medicine missions and will help manage the full cycle recruitment of over 3,800 professional and classified staff across 31 diverse departments. This position requires a high level of confidentiality, independent judgment, discretion, and strong analytical skills in planning and executing SoM recruitments.

     

    The Recruiter will collaborate closely with partners in SoM HR, UWHR Total Talent Management, and UWHR Compensation, and will have full access to Workday to support recruitment operations.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This position requires significant organization, problem-solving, project management and communication skills with frequent and substantive interactions within the SoM and with UWHR. Individual initiative, judgement, and discretion regarding sensitive and confidential matters, and superior customer service skills are all necessary for the tasks assigned. This position requires accuracy, efficiency, flexibility, creativity, and a desire to serve multiple stakeholders, while working within UW regulations.

    Recruitment & Talent Sourcing (40%)

    + Manage full-cycle recruiting for a wide range of positions, including hard-to-fill roles. This may include posting positions, developing sourcing strategies that attract diverse candidates, performing phone screens, facilitating panel interviews, and onboarding.

    + Support executive and senior leadership recruitment, as well as positions that require navigating hiring processes for staff covered by collective bargaining agreements, ensuring compliance with all relevant union policies.

    + Create candidate pipelines for high volume positions. Allocate applicants to the positions that best suit them based on knowledge, skills, abilities, and interests.

    + Create standardized interview question templates that can be easily customized to specific positions and departments.

    + Responsible for sourcing, identifying, and recommending placements of diverse candidates through creative internal and external sourcing methods.

    + Implement creative sourcing techniques to attract and recommend the placement of diverse and qualified candidates.

    + Handle all candidate information and recruitment communications with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

    Candidate Experience & Coordination (50%)

    + Ensure a seamless, positive, and inclusive experience for all candidates throughout the recruitment process.

    + Partner with hiring managers to schedule and coordinate interviews, manage communications, and provide regular status updates to candidates.

    + Promote the SoM by sharing our mission, values, and workplace culture during candidate interactions.

    + Collaborate with hiring managers to identify strong candidates not selected for specific roles and assist with their placement in alternative opportunities within SoM.

    + Partner with hiring teams to identify and utilize diverse sourcing channels and coordinate job postings on relevant external platforms.

    + Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to support long-term talent acquisition and sourcing strategies.

    + Attend recruiting events, job fairs, and outreach functions to promote the SoM as an employer of choice and to proactively source new talent.

    + Provide backup support for I-9 employment verification, as needed.

    Recruitment Operations & Metrics (10%)

    + Maintain recruiting metrics dashboard. Dashboard may include: open positions, filled positions, time-to-fill, acceptance rate, and turnover/separations.

    + Advise managers on the legislative and regulatory requirements of the recruitment and selection process.

    + Regularly evaluate recruitment processes, policies, and procedures to identify areas for continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    + Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or other related field.

    + Minimum 2 years of recruiting or HR experience with demonstrated full-cycle recruitment capabilities.

     

    _Equivalent education and/or experience will substitute for minimum requirements._

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    + Strong knowledge of HR principles, especially in recruitment and compliance.

    + Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer service mindset.

    + Exhibit a proactive, service-oriented manner and ability to deal effectively with a diverse and demanding client base.

    + Demonstrated success in working with diverse populations.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    + HR experience in a large, complex, or unionized university environment.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

    + Experience working with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms.

     

    Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

    Pay Range Minimum:

    $78,000.00 annual

    Pay Range Maximum:

    $89,592.00 annual
