The Opportunity:
The Travel and Deployment Operations Manager will lead and manage all aspects of personnel travel, mobilization, and sustainment for government contracts or programs, ensuring mission readiness and compliance with the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and all relevant U.S. Government and agency-specific policies. This role requires expert knowledge of automated government travel systems (DTS, Chrome River, etc.), visa/passport requirements, and the deployment lifecycle from pre-clearance through redeployment.
Responsibilities:
+ Directly supervise and manage a team of junior to mid-level professionals in travel and deployment operations, setting goals and objectives for team members to achieve operational results.
+ Oversee the day-to-day operations of the travel and deployment team, providing expert guidance on complex domestic and international travel and TDY entitlements.
+ Serve as the final authority interpreting and applying JTR and agency travel policies, ensuring policies, practices, and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers, and stakeholders.
+ Manage the review, approval, and processing of all travel authorizations (TARs), vouchers, and expense reports within required systems, ensuring 100% audit compliance and appropriate cost control.
+ Direct GOSIIT/REACT personnel on the deployment lifecycle, including medical screening, COCOM clearance, visa/passport processing, and mandatory Computer-Based Training (CBT) completion.
+ Coordinate logistical movements for CONUS/OCONUS travel, including commercial air (COMAIR) and military air (MILAIR) routing, and lodging, often requiring the preparation and submission of formal exception to policy (ETP) requests.
+ Serve as the primary point of contact (POC) for government leadership, contract officer representative (COR), and company leadership on all deployment matters.
+ Analyze tasks relating to travel and provide recommendations to personnel and travelers, citing new and emerging OCONUS travel requirements based on world politics.
+ Track and report past, current, and future status of multiple travelers to multiple layers of management, ensuring on-time and highly accurate responses.
+ Support deployment personnel in building travel packages, submitting APACS requests, updating PMM, and building SPOT LOAs.
+ Work directly with onsite travel coordinators to ensure TARs are submitted and approved ahead of scheduled travel, including understanding forecasting and funding, tracking charge strings and allocations of funding.
+ Merge information about government travel with extended work week requests and travel authorizations to build a full picture of travel planning at the Division level.
Qualifications:
_Required:_
+ Bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
+ Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience in CTR/GOV travel, logistics, or deployment coordination, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role
+ Technical expertise in travel systems such as Chrome River, 360 Travel Portal, etc.
+ Demonstrated experience managing visa/passport requirements, pre-deployment requirements (CRC, SPOT, LOA verification) for OCONUS mission support
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, etc.) and SharePoint Systems
+ Strong ability to coordinate and develop products across multiple teams with an emphasis on accuracy, quality, and timeliness
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain policies, practices, and procedures to others within the organization
+ Proven ability to operate in a team environment that is innovative, efficient, and organized
+ **Active Top Secret Clearance with the eligibility to gain an SCI**
_Desired:_
+ Familiarity with DTS, APACS, Empower, MyBiz, AR25-50, CROSS, MIRARs
+ Experience in process improvement and system enhancements
+ Knowledge of budget management and financial reporting

+ Leads, directs, and reviews the work of team members to accomplish operational plans and results

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$75,200 - 158,100 USD
