    Overview

     

    Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a talented Project Survey Technician to join our Survey/Geospatial team in Mt. Laurel, NJ!

     

    In this office-based, design-focused role, you’ll transform field data into precise survey deliverables that support impactful transportation projects, especially for the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT). From processing survey data to preparing detailed base maps, you’ll be at the center of projects that keep New Jersey moving.

     

    If you have experience with AutoCAD, survey mapping, and a strong knowledge of NJDOT standards, this is your chance to put your skills to work on high-profile projects while growing your career with a leading survey and geospatial team.

    Responsibilities

    + Analyze and prepare complete boundary survey by compiling record data and providing sound analysis and reason for accurate property line location.

    + Perform Quality Control review on reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and other contract documents prepared by others for accuracy and completeness.

    + Provide assistance to staff in the preparation of reports/findings, plans, and other contract documents.

    + Organize and coordinate the work of field and office staff required to complete design, field and/or other tasks on more complex projects.

    + Assist in the preparation of project/task work plans.

    + Provide direction to staff to complete project objectives.

    + Monitor the work efforts of assigned staff including sub-consultants and/or contractors.

    Qualifications

    + High School Diploma/GED is required; Associate degree or equivalent technical experience is preferred.

    + 5+ years of related surveying experience required.

    + Experience working on DOT projects preferred.

    + AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency required. MicroStation, InRoads/OpenRoads proficiency highly preferred.

    + Proficient various data techniques and coding systems.

    + Advanced knowledge of various surveying instruments, techniques, and computations.

    + Advanced understanding of angular and linear measurement systems.

    + Advanced knowledge of trigonometry and geometry.

    + Valid drivers’ license required and ability to operate a motor vehicle. MVR will be checked and monitored.

    + Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

    + Construction Surveying Experience a plus.

    + 3D Scanning Registration Experience a plus.

     

    Compensation: $67,000 to $101,500 per year (depending on qualifications)
