    JOB INFORMATION

    • Job Title: Intern - Plant Operator

    • Job Code: 128331

    JOB SUMMARY

    On-the-job education and training, providing opportunities to gain experience in the field of study. Performs assignments with standardized processes. Works under direct supervision. Resolves questions and problems within established standards and guidelines. Follows established procedures to accomplish requirements of the job.

    LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY

    • Responsibilities are varied but related to primary focus of job area. May work outside area of assigned duties. Routine duties based on detailed instruction. Works under direct supervision. Responds to routine questions and problems within standards and guides. Refers complex issues to higher levels.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Prepares simple reports or keeps maintenance records, and other routine duties in various craft trades.

    • Operates machines and equipment.

    • May drive automotive equipment to and from work sites.

    • Assists skilled craft workers in a variety of maintenance, repair, or construction work by furnishing and using simple tools, materials and supplies.

    • Assists the department and members by providing directions, instructions and responses to routine inquiries.

    • All other duties as assigned.

    • Cleans work area machines.

    • May assemble tools, supplies, materials, and equipment and assist in maintaining them in serviceable condition.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • High School Diploma/GED And pursuing an Associate's Degree or higher in a Technical discipline (i.e., Electronics, Engineering Technology, Power Plant Operations, etc.).

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • May require travel to various job sites and facilities occasionally requiring staying overnight.

    • May require to work overtime as needed.

    • Required to work in both an office environment and in outside weather conditions.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAS)

    • Ability to communicate effectively in speech and writing with members at all levels throughout the organization as well as with outside professionals.

    • Self motivated.

    • Ability to diagnose problems, determine the nature, symptoms and causes of trouble from evidence available and take corrective action or communicate symptoms to others.

    • Ability to effectively use a personal computer with MS Office Suite and related applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and SAP).

    • Strong team work skills.
