    Robert Half Finance & Accounting (New York, NY)


    Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in New York, New York. In this role, you will support critical financial operations, including managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing monthly reports, and ensuring accurate journal entries. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the efficient functioning of our accounting processes while collaborating with external auditors and consultants.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely and accurate processing.

    • Perform monthly financial close activities, including reconciliation and reporting.

    • Monitor cash flow and prepare detailed monthly reports, including sales and commission data.

    • Collaborate with external auditors during financial reviews and closings.

    • Coordinate with outside consulting firms to address accounting needs and compliance.

    • Record and review journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

    • Prepare and analyze monthly balance reports for internal review.

    • Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are precise and up-to-date. Requirements • Proficiency in managing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

    • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.

    • Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail.

    • Ability to process invoices efficiently and accurately.

    • Solid understanding of journal entries and general ledger maintenance.

    • Prior experience in preparing financial reports and conducting reconciliations.

    • Familiarity with cash flow management and monthly closings.

    • Effective communication skills for collaborating with auditors and consultants.
