    What is a Supervisor- Distribution Work Management?

     

    The Supervisor- Distribution Work Management will lead and supervise the Electric Distribution Planners across the districts. The Supervisor- Distribution Work Management will monitor the overall progress of projects across the system to ensure successful completion within established timeframes and budget, and will manage the review, verification, and allocation of invoices related to project work. The Supervisor- Distribution Work Management will communicate directly with Managers and Line Supervisors and ensure that Distribution Planner support is available as needed to perform various tasks such as scheduling work, calling for mark outs, making customer contact, scheduling shutdowns, and preparing damage claims. This role is ideally suited for a motivated utility professional who is passionate about driving day-to-day execution while leading the digital transformation of our planning, scheduling, and work management systems. The successful candidate will act as a change agent, championing modernization, streamlining processes, and improving cross-functional collaboration.

     

    What does a Supervisor- Distribution Work Management do?

     

    + Supervises and coaches Electric Transmission & Distribution Planners across multiple districts

    + Conducts performance reviews, establishes goals, and mentors staff to foster team development and professional growth

    + Delegates responsibilities to support team development while ensuring high-priority initiatives are managed effectively

    + Oversees the key performance indicators as it relates to Electric Transmission & Distribution work

    + Participates in and collaborates for the annual and five-year work plan creation for Electric Transmission & Distribution, incorporating staffing, non-labor, capital, and expense budgets in collaboration with leadership

    + Inputs, validates, and manages forecasts in Tagetik and other enterprise systems

    + Coordinates and leads monthly capital planning meetings across Electric Transmission & Distribution, Engineering, and Estimating to drive project delivery and financial alignment.

    + Leads submissions and closeouts of work orders ensuring alignment with corporate KPIs and financial targets

    + Oversees the distribution defective pole replacement process system-wide

    + Handles time sensitive financial responsibilities including the review of invoices and generation of capital and expense projections

    + Assists in managing Electric Transmission & Distribution capital and operating work plans and provides monthly input regarding variations from the established work plan

    + Monitors the overall progress of projects across the system to ensure successful completion within established timeframes

    + Champions user adoption, training, and feedback collection for work management transformation and new scheduling technologies

    + Demonstrates a high regard for personal accountability and the ability to deliver comprehensive recommendations and analysis

    + Identifies opportunities for productivity improvement and works with the Operations group to implement changes to current processes

    + Provides support for storm restoration efforts

     

    What does it take to be a Supervisor- Distribution Work Management?

     

    + Associate’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or related field and 3 years of relevant experience in Engineering, Utility Planning, Project Management, or Operations. In lieu of an associate’s degree, a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of relevant experience in Engineering, Utility Planning, Project Management, or Operations

    + Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and demonstrated ability to learn new software programs quickly

    + Excellent analytical, organizational, and evaluation skills

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills; communicates in a clear and concise manner

    + Strong problem-solving ability, basic mechanical and math skills, and attention to detail

    + Ability to multitask and operate under pressure in a fast-paced work environment, proactive and flexible in handling multiple assignments and meeting deadlines

    + Valid driver’s license

    Preferred:

    + Previous supervisory experience in utility operations or electric distribution planning

    + Experience with budget development and capital forecasting.

    + Experience supervising and leading a team, coaching, and mentoring employees
