Network Engineer Associate

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Network Engineer Associate, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission supporting the JSP-ETM activities in Arlington, VA. You will play a crucial role as a Network Engineer Associate.
• Support:
+ Monitors the network utilizing industry leading technologies.
+ Provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process.
+ Plans for implementation of enhancements.
+ Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
• Collaborate with the networking team to:
+ Designs, plans, and builds communications networks.
+ Configure routers and switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols.
+ Coordinates LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements.
• Drive:
+ Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks.
+ Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.
+ Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
+ Creates plan and configure systems for data communication networks.
• Utilize:
+ Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
+ Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
+ Designs and builds the hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.
+ Provides guidance and leadership to less-experienced network personnel.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
• Experience: 0+ years of related experience
• Technical skills:
+ AT Level II certification
+ One of the following Networking Certifications - Brocade, Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), Juniper (JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP), Aruba
+ Must have hands-on experience/knowledge with Aruba networking systems
• Security clearance level: Active Secret Clearance
• Role requirements: This position is Onsite

The likely salary range for this position is $70,550 - $95,450. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
