Minimum qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
+ 7 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 5 years with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
+ Experience in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), with a focus on Revenue (ASC 606) Accounting in a public accounting or multinational company setting.
Preferred qualifications:
+ Experience in creating accounting memos, process documentation and presentations.
+ Ability to have a collaborative style and work with cross-functional and international teams.
+ Working knowledge of SQL and automation.
+ Advanced knowledge in the interpretation and application of accounting principles and practices.
+ Excellent business acumen with ability to deal with ambiguity.
+ Effective skills and ability to understand and present data.

Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. You'll lead an accounting process from end-to-end. Other responsibilities include reconciling balance sheets and P&L accounts, and providing supplementary financial information for internal and external reports.
The Ads Controllership team are trusted advisors to the business, driving reliable financial reporting and processes. We fuel Google’s growth by unlocking efficiencies and empowering the business to achieve audacious goals. We support Ads business by overseeing end-to-end order-to-cash process, including contracting, billing, revenue reporting and payment disbursement. We leverage our deep product knowledge and GAAP understanding to ensure revenue recognition adherence to 606 guidance. We design and implement robust process controls for SOX compliance and collaborate with auditors to fulfill all audit requirements.
In this role, you'll collaborate extensively across Controllership teams to manage financial statement risks and ensure timely and accurate accounting and reporting requirements are met. You will partner with cross-functional teams to brainstorm and co-design financial pipelines to support complex financial operational needs for new product and business initiatives.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000-$183,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
+ Design, implement and manage global processes for the accounting of Ads products, including: revenue, cost of sales, contra-revenue accruals, sales allowance, deferred revenue, operating expenses and the related balance sheet reconciliations.
+ Perform month-end close processes, including contract review, processing payments, and preparing/posting journal entries.
+ Partner with internal teams and engineering and business partners to define, establish and implement accounting systems, processes and procedures. Review processes and implement controls to ensure mitigated risk for Google.
+ Identify opportunities and implement programs to centralize, eliminate, automate or outsource activities. Work with providers to outsource established or mature processes and manage ongoing activities.
+ Work through accounting implications to support product launches and changes in business operations. Provide controllership guidance to Sales, Product, Engineering, FP&A and other cross-functional teams.
