    The Imperial Calcasieu Human Services Authority (ImCal HSA) exists to empower citizens with mental health, addiction, and developmental challenges residing in the parishes of Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, and Jefferson Davis, valuing self-determination so that individuals can live satisfying, hopeful, and contributing lives.

     

    We're seeking to add aMedical Certification Specialistto our Developmental Disabilities Division. Our Developmental Disabilities Division is committed to ensuring quality services, serving as the Single Point of Entry (SPOE) into the developmental disabilities services system.

     

    Applicants who are aLouisiana-registered nursemay be given preference.

    Minimum Qualifications

    A current Louisiana license in a health services field, health regulation field, or social services field plus two years of experience in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services; OR

    A bachelor's degree plus two years of experience in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services; OR

    A master's degree in a health services field, health regulation field, or a social services field plus one year of experience in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services.

    Job Duties and Other Information

    Job Duties:

    + Completes intake process and assist with referral to the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) Act 421 Children’s Medicaid Option (CMO) program hotline. Advise families about the Act 421 CMO program and how to register.

    + Conducts outreach to families upon notification of the offer to initiate the determination process.

    + Determines if applicants have a current OCDD Statement of Approval (SOA) in the Participant Services Database.

    + Provides applicants with information about the OCDD service delivery system.

    + As necessary, will provide referrals to the LGE Developmental Disability Entry Unit for eligibility determination

    Position-Specific Details:

    Appointment Type: Job appointment or probational, or permanent

     

    Career Progressi on: This position participates in a Career Progression Group and may be filled as a Medical Certification Specialist 1 or 2.

     

    Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.

     

    Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
