    Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM

     

    Contract Length: 26 weeks (New School Year)

     

    Hours: 35+ hours/week

     

    Setting: Moderate/Severe Classroom

     

    Grade Level: Elementary

    Position Description:

    Escondido Union School District is seeking a dedicated Moderate/Severe Special Education Teacher to lead a self-contained elementary classroom. This is a full-time, in-person position focused on supporting students with significant needs in a structured and supportive environment.

    The teacher will be responsible for:

    + Delivering individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals

    + Managing a single classroom of students with moderate to severe disabilities

    + Collaborating with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families

    + Maintaining compliance with all special education documentation and timelines

    + Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

    Requirements:

    + Valid California Moderate/Severe Education Specialist Credential

    + Prior school-based experience preferred

    + Must be comfortable working in a specialized classroom setting

    Compensation:

    + Local Pay Rate: $60/hour

    + Travel Weekly Pay: $2,300 (adjustable based on need)
