The Senior Manager of Store Operations is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing operational execution and driving continuous improvement across US Retail locations. This role requires advanced organizational skills, deep expertise in retail operations, and proven leadership capabilities. The Senior Manager partners cross-functionally with Home Office and field teams, ensuring operational programs are executed efficiently, communicated clearly, and aligned with evolving retail objectives. This leader is accountable for developing talent, fostering a culture of collaboration, and ensuring operational excellence throughout the organization.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Strategic Leadership & Team Development
+ Lead, coach, and develop a team of project leaders, fostering a high-performance culture.
+ Model to team spirit of ownership and leadership of field outcomes for all operational elements
+ Guide the development of tools and infrastructure to support store executions
+ Set clear goals and expectations, provide regular feedback, and support professional growth.
+ Launch operational processes for new programs and initiatives
+ Cross-Functional Partnership
+ Collaborate with business owners and senior leaders to operationalize strategic initiatives.
+ Identify solutions to complex business problems by bringing teams and expertise together to solve challenges without an active Staples SOP
+ Influence the design and implementation of programs to simplify execution and drive sales growth.
+ Field Execution Support
+ Gather and analyze feedback from field teams to assess program success and identify improvement opportunities.
+ Partner with field leaders to drive execution of key activities and resolve escalated issues.
+ Ensure consistent support and communication to field teams for program-related matters.
+ Program Rollout
+ Oversee communications timelines to streamline messaging to field teams.
+ Utilize appropriate channels to drive field adoption and execution of programs.
+ Leverage existing Staples knowledge to build processes that align with current standard operating procedures
+ Monitor program performance and adjust strategies as needed.
+ Report to SR leadership teams results and next steps of program launches to sustainable store operations
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
+ 10+ years Experience
+ Extensive knowledge of retail operations and/or Staples processes.
+ Demonstrated success in leading and developing teams.
+ Advanced analytical and strategic thinking skills.
+ Results-oriented with the ability to influence outcomes at all levels.
+ Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
+ Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
+ Proven capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
+ Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable leading cross-functional discussions.
+ Experience managing change and driving organizational initiatives.
