Description
Position Summary:
Person in this position will provide services to clients in the Domestic Violence Shelter. In addition will lead in event coordination efforts with local organizations to promote WestCare’s mission and community engagement.
Essential Job Functions:
+ Assist clients with accessing community resources and support.
+ Fills in for staff call offs, vacations, etc. as needed at Safe House
+ Complete documentation of services on provided forms/CDS in a timely manner.
+ Provides client supervision in daily activities and general program operations.
+ Provides crisis counseling and support to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, substance use, mental health.
+ Presents groups and activities
+ Oversees overall facility maintenance and meal preparation.
+ Daily point of service recordkeeping including meal count worksheets, menus, infant feeding records & food temperature log.
+ Provides input into the client’s treatment needs and disposition.
+ Assists other WestCare staff as needed in a collaborative manner to promote cooperation and portray a professional image to the community.
+ Work with community to help place individuals with mental health, domestic violence, substance use disorders
+ Work with Mohave County Jail, delivering information on DV, SUD, MH
+ Work closely with community partners promoting services to help those in need
+ Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation.
+ Work independently in public, utilizing independent judgment that will enhance and support the mission and vision of WestCare
+ Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Certifications/Licenses:
+ Possess or able to obtain Arizona Level 1 Fingerprint clearance card
+ Able to pass Arizona Central Registry background check
Education:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ Associates of bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience and Competencies:
+ Minimum of 1 year experience working within a social service setting
+ Ability to work collaboratively with others in a manner that is pleasant and professional.
+ Ability to work well in a team environment.
+ Ability to exercise good judgement and discretion.
+ Ability to operate a computer and complete documents in Microsoft Word program formats or the ability to learn.
+ Ability to respond as needed to crisis situations in an efficient manner.
+ Ability to complete work tasks within scheduled work hours.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Willing to seek out new work projects and contribute ideas and efforts to the constant improvement of WestCare services.
