Job Description
Our client is seeking a Patent Specialist to join their team! The Patent Specialist will support 1-2 attorneys with patent filings and prosecution, including preparing and submitting applications, managing deadlines through docketing systems, and coordinating with clients and foreign associates. They’ll handle administrative tasks like organizing files, drafting legal documents, and ensuring compliance with patent procedures. The role also involves staying updated on changes in patent law and providing general support to the legal team in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. This position is located in Irvine, CA (4x a week onsite), and the base salary for this position is $80,000 - $100,000.

Skills and Requirements
• 4+ years in a patent-focused legal support role (Specialist or Secretary)
• Familiarity with the full lifecycle of patent filings, particularly with U.S. Patent and Trademark Office procedures
• Hands-on experience using docketing or case management software to track deadlines and filings
• Ability to navigate complex client requirements, especially in structured or high-volume environments
• Strong organizational habits and clear written communication • Exposure to international filings (PCT and foreign)
• Familiarity with legal forms like declarations and assignments
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and legal tech tools
