Job Description Summary
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the HVAC Technician will maintain, repair, and service heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. This to include troubleshooting and repair of related electrical systems.
Job Description
+ Make daily checks of, and adjustments to: thermostats, receiver controllers, controllers, sensors, automatic control panels, and other related equipment for proper operations.
+ Maintain, repair and service a variety of large and small HVAC equipment and appliances including, but not limited to: refrigerators, freezers, ice machines, and centrifugal, scroll, & screw chillers, cooling towers, hydronic systems, centrifugal pumps, and hot water boilers.
+ Maintain and repair large commercial air handling units; adjust and balance air flow on all units; replace old air conditioning heat pump systems as necessary.
+ Make adjustments and repairs to HVAC equipment in conjunction with the installation, repair and adjustment of controls and control system networks.
+ Order parts and replacement units.
+ Perform regularly scheduled preventive maintenance on all assigned equipment, clean coils and vacuum equipment
+ Replace or repair thermostats; re-program electronic controllers
+ Respond to and resolve various emergency calls and routine calls for service.
+ Plan, organize and lay out assigned tasks.
+ Perform other duties as required.
Ability to:
+ Estimate cost, labor, and materials as necessary for replacement and repair of general HVAC work.
+ Read drawing and work from plans and specifications.
+ Understand and follow oral and written directions.
+ Work independently with little directions.
+ Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
+ Meet schedules and time lines.
+ Use a variety of tools and machines used in the basic trades.

Qualifications:
A high school diploma; GED or experiences in the trades beyond minimum requirements may substitutes for education. Minimum requirements of 4 years previous experiences are required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education and /or Experience** **:
High school diploma or GED and four (4) years related experience and/ or training, or equivalent.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Possession of a valid state driver’s license; possession of a valid EPA Refrigerant Certification (Universal Certification Preferred)
Working Conditions** **:
**Environmental Conditions** :
Field environment; travel from site to site; exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, gases, electrical energy; adverse weather conditions; work or inspect in confined spaces, work at heights on scaffolding and ladders and with machinery.
**Physical conditions** :
Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; heavy, moderate or heavy lifting and carrying; bending , stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing; ability to work at heights; operating motorized equipment and vehicles; near visual acuity to inspect equipment and machinery.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
The compensation for the position is: $29.75 - $35.00
