Description
The Layout Inspector - CMM is responsible for conducting high-precision inspections of complex parts and assemblies using CMM equipment and other precision measuring tools. The role ensures that products meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements through detailed layout inspections. This position is a U.A.W. represented position on first shift with a starting pay of $33.51 per hour.
Essential Functions:
+ Operate / Program CMM machines using software such as Calypso and Zeiss.
+ Perform plate layouts while being proficient in CMM programming and usage.
+ Perform inspections using precision hard gaging techniques (Micrometers, calipers, plug gages, etc.).
+ Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures.
+ Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and specifications to determine inspection criteria.
+ Process inspection paperwork and record results.
+ Collaborate with quality, engineering, and production teams to resolve quality issues.
+ Follow safety and quality procedures at all times.
+ Any and all other duties as assigned by management.
Position Requirements
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ Presently have or immediately be able to qualify for a UAW Journeyman card for CMM Layout.
+ Prior CMM programming experience (Calypso, Zeiss).
+ 2+ years machining experience
+ Proficient in reading orders and work instructions
+ Proficient in reading and understanding processes / blueprint drawings
+ Must have mechanical skills
+ Proficient mathematical skills
+ Must be able to lift up to and including 50 lbs and must be able to bend
+ Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
+ 2+ years of assembly experience preferred
+ Material Handling experience preferred
