    Caterpillar is seeking a Mining Equipment Management (MEM) digital tools owner to drive development of critical MEM tools. This role works closely Caterpillar and Dealer equipment management subject matter experts and digital development teams — developing and enhancing tools to meet user needs, ensuring reliability, resolving issues efficiently, and applying proven support practices.

    What You Will Do:

    • **Own the digital tools:** Be the tool owner for critical MEM tools used to track and improve Physical Availability in the field (e.g. Digital Performance Plus (DPP), the Maintenance Strategy Reference Tool (MSR), the MEM Site Assessment Tool (SAT), PA Forensics). Manage tool portfolio, business case & tool funding and ensuring legal requirements met.

    • **Product Strategy & Roadmap:** Define and communicate equipment management tool needs and roadmap, ensuring products support Site Performance Manager and Mining Equipment Management expert’s needs. Manage integration into corporate IT tool landscape. Investigate and communicate the potential for AI integration. Represent RI digital requirements with business partners.

    • **Requirement Gathering:** Work with Caterpillar field teams, Dealers and internal users to collect & prioritize VOC on tool requirements and enhancements.

    • **Manage Tool Development:** Coordinate with IT tool development partners to scope and prioritize tool development / enhancement deliverables and facilitate efficient development cycles.

    • **Stakeholder Communication:** Act as a bridge between senior management, stakeholders and the development team, gathering and interpreting requirements, and communicating development cycle timelines and progress. Educating & influencing business partners on tool capabilities & tool usage. Managing dealer & customer communication (technical & business issues).

    • **Digital Tool Support:** Identify, document and resolve tool design, reliability and maintenance problems and bugs. Answer tool user support questions and provide guidance and support for tool use.

    Education Requirement:

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience.

    Resolves software issues by applying tracking tools and resolution procedures to ensure product stability.

     

    Software Product Business Knowledge

     

    Drives product strategy by managing requirements, customer insights, and advanced business features.

     

    User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

     

    Designs and guides end-user testing strategies to validate software functionality and ensure readiness for deployment.

    Top Candidates will Have:

    + Experience with Caterpillar tools and systems, and familiarity with mining equipment management processes

    + Background in software development or technical support

    + Proven ability to lead technical teams while managing multiple concurrent projects

    + Strong grasp of digital product lifecycle management, with a focus on product health, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement through data and collaboration

    + Hands-on experience supporting digital products post-launch, including performance monitoring, user feedback management, and coordinating enhancements with development teams

    Summary Pay Range:

    $144,960.00 - $235,440.00

     

    Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
