Position Overview
The Senior Director, Finance Transformation, Intelligent Automation will lead a team focused on the strategic design, development, and deployment of intelligent automation solutions across the finance organization. This role will be instrumental in driving operational efficiency, scalability, and data-driven decision-making by leveraging Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Alteryx and advanced workflow technologies. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of finance processes and will partner closely with Finance and other technology teams to identify automation opportunities, architect scalable solutions, and embed a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. This role will report into the Vice President, Finance Transformation.
Responsibilities
+ Define and execute a multi-year automation strategy aligned with finance transformation goals
+ Prioritize automation initiatives based on impact, feasibility, and alignment with business objectives
+ Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of RPA, ML, AI, and workflow platforms
+ Leverage built-in AI embedded in Finance systems such as SAP, Concur, Blackline etc.
+ Stay current with emerging technologies and trends to ensure the finance function remains future-ready
+ Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of automation projects—from opportunity assessment to deployment and optimization. Establish governance frameworks, KPIs, and success metrics to track value realization
+ Partner with Finance, GET/ESE teams, Data, and Business Process teams to identify and deliver high-impact use cases
+ Act as a change agent to drive adoption and ensure alignment across stakeholders
+ Build and lead a high-performing team of automation architects, developers, and analysts both in the US and offshore
+ Foster a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous learning. Ensure automation solutions adhere to internal controls, compliance standards, and data governance policies
+ Build out a team in a lower cost location to support the overall growing finance needs
Minimum Qualifications
+ Minimum of 12-15 years of professional experience in finance-related software development or planning systems
+ Proven experience leading end to end lifecycle of automation projects that drive operational efficiency, scalability, and data-driven decision-making by leveraging Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AItyrx and other advanced workflow technologies
+ Transformational leader skilled at building and elevatingglobally distributed, high-performing teams in complex, iterative environments.Strong leadership in mentoring, coaching, and collaboration
+ Track record of successfully delivering high-impact, high-visibility initiatives within defined timelines
+ Excellent communication, presentation & facilitation skills with the ability to work collaboratively and influence across all levels of leadership for both technical and business audiences
+ Comfort navigating a landscape of stakeholders with different and changing priorities
+ Proven ability to manage operational responsibilities such as vendor contracts, performance management, and cross-functional coordination
+ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Business Operations, or a related field; equivalent experience considered
+ Previous experience working at a high-tech company in a fast-paced environment enabling and automating various finance functions such as record-to-report, procure-to-pay and invoice-to-cash is required

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $213,500 and $345,400. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
