What you'll do...
This exciting Director, Communications - Media position is helping Walmart build plans focused on promoting our brand, building and maintaining relationships with the media and leading proactive efforts aimed at telling stories that demonstrate who we are as a company – a people-led, tech-powered omnichannel retailer dedicated to helping people save money and live better _._ The ideal candidate is a proven expert in media relations – with meaningful proactive experience.
What** **You’ll** **Do:
+ Serve as a high-level company spokesperson and lead our national media relations building and nurturing strong relationships with members of the media.
+ Oversee the development and dissemination of stories that support a united enterprise narrative that differentiates Walmart.
+ Serve as a strategic counselor and partner to executive leadership and stakeholders across the organization to navigate sensitive issues and further improve our media relations prowess as a team.
+ Deploya media training program for the company.
+ Serve as a subject matter expert for the enterprise, collaborating cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and departments to ensure successful enterprise communications that reflect all relevant segments of the business.
+ Continuously monitor trends, competitor activity, and audience preferences to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
+ Set benchmarks and key performance indicators for success, evaluating results, and implementing improvements as needed.
+ Maintain a thorough understanding of industry best practices, constantly driving innovation and excellence.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, or related field and 5 years’ experience in public relations, communications, or relevant area OR 7 years’ experience in public relations, communications, or relevant area.
2 years’ supervisory experience or experience leading cross-functional teams.
