    Job Description

    As a Product Development QA Intern at AbbVie, you will spend your summer engaged with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, gaining world-class experience within one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry.

     

    You will support the Product Development Q&A team within R&D Quality Assurance. This team ensures that all aspects of product development—including formulation, manufacturing processes, packaging, testing, and technology transfer—meet regulatory requirements, quality standards, and internal procedures. This function is responsible for proactively identifying and addressing quality risks in the development phase, establishing, and maintaining quality systems, reviewing and approving documentation, supporting regulatory submissions, and ensuring that products are developed consistently, safely, and compliantly. Product Development QA acts as a bridge between R&D, manufacturing, and regulatory teams to facilitate a robust quality culture throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to commercial launch.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Assisting with the development of product development training materials to support the onboarding of new quality representatives.

    + Collaborating with department (QA) and cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., R&D, regulatory, manufacturing) to support quality initiatives and process improvements.

    + Attend department meetings.

    + Engaging in training sessions and team meetings to learn about product development quality systems and regulatory compliance.

    + Create a proposal for endorsement and an implementation plan for the new training material proposals.

    + Work in the training system to develop and design new training materials.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, life sciences (e.g. biology, biochemistry), bioengineering, biomedical engineering, public health, health sciences, biomedical sciences, or other related degree

    + Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the internship

    + Expected graduation date between December 2026 – June 2027

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting, collaborating, and presenting information.
