    Job Description:

    + We are seeking an experienced Payroll Consultant specializing in Workday Payroll to lead the organization’s transition from a semi-monthly to bi-weekly pay cycle.

    + This role requires a deep understanding of payroll operations, configuration, and compliance, as well as strong cross-functional collaboration across Payroll, HRIS, Time & Absence, Compensation, and Benefits teams.

    + The ideal candidate will combine functional expertise and technical Workday knowledge to design and execute a seamless transition plan—ensuring compliance, accuracy, and a smooth employee experience

    Responsibilities:

    + Lead and manage the end-to-end transition from semi-monthly to bi-weekly payroll within Workday.

    + Conduct current-state assessments and design future-state configuration roadmaps, including testing, validation, and deployment.

    + Provide expert guidance on Workday Payroll configuration, parallel testing, cutover planning, and stakeholder communication.

    + Collaborate with internal teams (Payroll, HRIS, Time Tracking, Absence, Compensation, Benefits) to ensure downstream impacts are identified and managed.

    + Align time tracking and absence plans with the new payroll schedule, including recalculation of accruals, validation of time entry, and synchronization of overtime rules.

    + Partner with HR and Compensation to ensure alignment on position management, job profiles, eligibility rules, and benefit deductions.

    + Coordinate with benefit carriers and integration teams to ensure alignment of deduction timing and vendor file schedules.

    + Deliver configuration documentation, SOP updates, and facilitate training and knowledge transfer sessions for internal stakeholders.

    + Provide post–go-live stabilization support and reconciliation assistance.

    Experience:

    + 5–10 years of hands-on Workday Payroll experience.

    + Proven track record managing at least one full payroll frequency transition project.

    + Strong understanding of Workday Absence, Time Tracking, and HCM modules.

    + Experience collaborating across HR, Finance, and IT functions.

    + Excellent communication and documentation skills, with emphasis on change management and user enablement.

    + Solid grasp of federal, state, and local tax compliance implications related to pay frequency changes.

    + Prior experience within large or complex organizations preferred.
