Job Description
The salary for this position starts at $43,230. We take into consideration an individual’s background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of other benefits and earned time off that vary depending on part-time or full-time status.
1. Job Summary:
The Community Program Director oversees multiple program areas which may span across functional areas within the association and in the community. The incumbent is responsible for developing, delivering, and administering the varied program portfolios. The incumbent is responsible for recruiting, hiring, supervising, and developing team members and volunteers.
2. Essential Functions:
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and develop team members and volunteers.
• Develop and manage all programs and activities as assigned.
• Build and maintain relationships with agency and community partners to advance the mission of the programs.
• May write and assemble grant proposals as needed.
• Manage the requirements of established grant outcomes and provide required program data for local, state and federal program reports/evaluations.
• Manage the program budgets to assure that financial and program service goals are attained.
• Perform required administrative duties for the program.
• Communicate and interpret programs, objectives, policies, and operating procedures to all team members, volunteers and Y members and participants.
• Deliver a high level of service for all program participants.
• Participate in a leadership role for fundraising as defined by their supervisor.
3. Relationships:
This position reports to Beacons Center Director. The incumbent interacts regularly with staff, members, and the community. This position requires regular interaction with youth families educators and community stakeholders from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
4. Qualifications:
Required
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating youth development or community programs.
• Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong administrative and program management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with various groups to achieve a desired end result.
• Ability to develop and manage budgets.
• Must be organized, self-directed, and creative.
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred
• BS/BA in related field
• Experience in fundraising
• Experience in grant writing
• Experience in program evaluation
• Multilingual
5. Work Conditions:
• Ability to travel locally between locations to attend meetings and trainings.
• Perform all physical aspects of the position, including being mobile, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Ability to recognize and react calmly and effectively in hazardous/dangerous situations.
• Work environments range from quiet work areas to busy, noisy indoor and outdoor spaces with several groups talking amongst themselves concurrently.
• Must be able to actively participate in youth games/activities.
