Job Summary
The Program Specialist I (Tutoring), under general supervision, performs entry-level specialist duties for a department, college, or division.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Assists in planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and monitoring programs and services.
+ Plans and develops specialized programs such as conferences, seminars, lectures, meetings, and workshops to facilitate program goals.
+ Coordinates specialized program communications and marketing materials.
+ Assists in the development of policies and procedures. Assists in the preparation and maintenance of budgets, special reports, and other documents.
+ Attends meetings and conferences to discuss the progress of assigned programs.

Additional Responsibilities
+ Manage daily operations of the tutoring program, including scheduling, staffing, and program planning.
+ Supervise and provide guidance to campus tutors, SI Leaders, and Tutor.com integration.
+ Ensure tutoring services meet student needs and align with university academic standards.
+ Collect, analyze, and report tutoring usage data, student learning outcomes, and program effectiveness.
+ Provide regular reports to the Director on student engagement, success metrics, and program impact.
+ Develop and deliver training, orientation, and ongoing professional development opportunities for tutors and SI Leaders.
+ Collaborate with ACE staff, faculty, and campus partners to integrate tutoring into broader student success initiatives.
+ Assist with department events, workshops, and academic support programming.
+ Promote tutoring services across campus to increase visibility and student utilization.
+ Maintain accurate records, timesheets, and payroll approvals for student employees.
+ Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of tutors and SI Leaders.
+ Support budget management for tutoring-related expenses and resource allocation.
Minimum Requirements
+ Education – Bachelor’s degree in applicable field.
+ Experience – 3 years related experience preferably in a higher education setting.
+ An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Education and Experience
+ Knowledge of freshmen recovery efforts.
+ Registration procedures.
+ Faculty support.
+ Academic support.
+ Events and conference coordination.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
+ Word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Ability to:
+ Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
+ Maintain attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.
Preferred Knowledge and Abilities
+ Able to apply software in updating the MAP Workbook for UNIV courses.

Salary: $17.54/hourly
