    Overview

     

    UIC Government Services, LLC and the Bowhead Family of Companies has organized its operations into five Business Lines: Advanced Technology, Engineering and Program Management (EPM), Logistics and Marine (L&M), Manufacturing and Products (M&P), and Systems and Information Technology (S&IT).

     

    UIC Government Services, LLC and the Bowhead Family of Companies is recruiting for a Senior Director, UICGS Strategic Initiatives to lead Strategic Initiatives as the company continues to grow its portfolio. The Senior Director, Strategic Initiatives will be responsible for developing short- and long-term business strategies to achieve the strategic objectives set by the organization and will be held accountable for leading the creation and successful execution of annual business plans through assigned companies to deliver expected results for financial performance, shareholder value, and other objectives.

    Responsibilities

    • Overseeing the development and execution of the Advanced Technology business and strategic plans that align with the organization’s strategic goals and mission, which are tailored to existing and projected business environments and opportunities, and capitalize on UICGS’ strengths.

    • Assist the Vice President of Advanced Technology in all aspects of business development activities to include, but not limited to:

    1. Establishment of Capture and Bid and Proposal (B&P) budgets

    2. Opportunity identification, pipeline development, capture maturity, and solutions development

    3. Participation in color team reviews

    4. Final approval of proposed cost file, and

    5. Approval of all Gate processes

    • Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets and directing financial and budget activities to fund operations and increase efficiency.

    • Responsible for P&L and analyzing monthly and fiscal year-to-date budget vs. actual revenue and profit performance by contract.

    • Implementing policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, in collaboration with organization management and staff members as necessary.

    • Conferring with subordinate management in developing and reviewing annual operating plans, standard operating plans, and P&L reports to determine changes to programs or operations as required.

    • Determining business line staffing requirements and overseeing personnel processes.

    • Analyzing the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

    • Planning, developing and implementing organization policies and goals in accordance with policies set forth by the organization.

    • Identifying emerging and existing business opportunities, establishing relationships and promoting capabilities with key decision makers, and positioning the organization to pursue and win new business.

    • Keeping the Executive Team informed of operational performance through regular briefings, reports, and analyses regarding business development, financial performance, service delivery, and other key strategic measures.

    • Collaborating with other members of the Executive Team to interpret strategic direction, set corporate-wide policy, ensure compliance with corporate and government requirements, establish and monitor operational controls, establish and maintain a productive work culture, and ensure adherence to the corporation’s values and ethics.

    • Will work with the corporation’s In-house Counsel to ensure legal obligations are met and in compliance with federal and state law.

    Qualifications

    • A Master’s Degree in Engineering is required.

    • A minimum of ten (10+) years of experience in federal contracting as a program manager, director, or higher providing technical and managerial leadership for the development and integration of warfare devices, weapons and unmanned systems.

    • Demonstrated expertise in technology areas related to weapons and weapons control, weapon effects, strike and tactical weapons, asymmetric systems, manned and unmanned systems, autonomous systems and robotics, and disruptive and embedded technologies as applied to naval, joint and national missions.

    • Effective leadership of one or more organizations with annual budget of $100 million or greater.

    • Demonstrated and recent experience as a Business Operations leader with P&L responsibility of at least $10M is required.

    • Demonstrated experience managing multiple programs across an organization with the ability to analyze monthly and fiscal year to date budget versus actual revenue and profit performance by program.

    • Proven ability to provide leadership direction across a multi-faceted department of professionals.

    • Proven ability to build, motivate, and sustain a quality management team and create strategic plans that underpin the short- and long-term viability of the corporation.

    • Demonstrated track record of leading organizations to grow, be profitable, and deliver expected or greater returns to shareholders.

    • Demonstrated ability to manage Operations and collaborate with Support Services to ensure optimal business decisions are considered and executed in the organization.

    • Demonstrated aptitude and experience with business development.

    • Proven team building and motivational skills including strong technical knowledge with expertise in government contract performance and the applicable laws and regulations.

    • Excellent computer skills, demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office.

    • Experience in change management and a demonstrated ability to strike the balance between business goals and cultural values.

    • Demonstrated consistent adherence to the highest degree of ethical conduct.

    • Ability to make effective strategic decisions efficiently.

    • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; team building skills, and the ability to build and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with superiors, peers, and subordinates.

    • Frequent local and long distance travel based upon business requirements may be required.

    • Extensive knowledge and understanding of NAVSEA and the Warfare Centers is desired.

     

    SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to maintain a clearance at the TOP SECRET level. Due to the nature of this work and the Top Secret clearance required, US Citizenship is required.
