The American Express Corporate Affairs & Communications (CA&C) team is a strategic function that works to enhance and protect the continued strength of the American Express brand through public relations, social media and content, colleague communications and corporate sustainability (CS) initiatives.
How will you make an impact in this role?
Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
+ Working closely with business partners and providing appropriate and timely accounting guidance in accordance with US GAAP and American Express accounting policies.
+ Document the accounting conclusions in an accurate, clear and comprehensive manner.
+ Lead/Support business growth initiatives from a budgeting/forecasting perspective for the Corporate Affairs and Communications department.
+ Collaborate with multiple business partners regarding technology initiatives to assist in determining budget implications and requirements.
+ Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key Business and Finance partners.
+ Partner with functional areas of Finance to efficiently embed financial processes, such as annual operational budget planning, long range plans, etc.
+ Conduct operational budget reviews to assist in identifying opportunities to strengthen the financial control environment, seeking out areas of financial risks and opportunities
+ Support review of monthly/quarterly senior leadership presentations.
+ Support cross functional team trainings for key financial policies and business advisory topics.
+ Conduct deep dive general ledger analysis where needed to support business inquiries.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
+ 2 years’ experience in Accounting or Finance.
+ Good understanding of US GAAP and experience in accounting and reporting.
+ Ability to articulate accounting concepts in a clear & concise manner to non-finance leaders/stakeholders.
+ Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills.
+ Good analytical skills and able to connect business drivers and linkages.
+ Ability to work efficiently and effectively both individually and in a team environment.
+ Conversant with Oracle system and proficient in use of MS-Office preferred.
Qualifications
Salary Range: $65,500.00 to $102,500.00 annually bonus benefits
