Materials Manager
Position Summary/Essential Functions:
Provide leadership of Supply Chain Management activities for an aerospace repair station. Supply Chain Management activities will include managing the receiving/induction department, the shipping department, the oil and bag department, and the outsource function.
Work with operations, customer service (CSO), the business unit manager, purchasing, IT and other appropriate resources to strategically plan and coordinate the flow of materials and information from customers to meet on-time delivery expectations. Provides direct leadership and management of hourly personnel in multiple departments.

Responsibilities:
+ Lead and manage all activities related to receiving/unboxing, induction, outsource, oil and bag, and shipping. This also includes inventory management related to our stock rooms and external storage containers.
+ Determine the ideal scheduling format to support a 24/7 operation. This includes the screening, interviewing, and selection of personnel for all departments.
+ Develop and/or maintain key KPIs (e.g. TAT) for all departments. Conduct weekly meetings with manager to review potential opportunities and areas for continuous improvement.
+ Accountable for location/division metrics and Standards of Performance.
+ Responsible to manage logistics (scheduling of shipments inbound and outbound) for the site
+ Create opportunities for better space utilization within current layout. Develop plans for potential future expansion of footprint.
+ Ensure all the location/division’s material management policies are consistent with the inventory control objectives of the Corporation.
+ Direct management of inventory (components, WIP, and finished goods) including quarterly and annual physical inventories
+ Manage outsource department and drive efficiencies to improve turnaround time (TAT)
+ Be open-minded and willing to explore all possibilities to meet the needs of our customers. This is a very fast-paced environment that requires quick and educated decision-making
+ Support internal or external audit requirements
+ Manage department budget within established guidelines.
+ Provide professional development for all team members. Explain and support company policies and procedures.
+ Actively support and implement lean principles.
Qualifications:
+ B.A. /B.S. degree in a related technical or business discipline, and four or more years of directly related experience and demonstrated ability to perform in the described role and responsibilities and obtain the desired results.
+ Substantial practical knowledge and understanding of products, manufacturing processes, and/or specialty areas in quality or operations support, including applicable information systems and reports (e.g. MRP or other planning/execution systems). General knowledge of business and government regulations (e.g. manufacturing specifications, FAA, safety).
+ Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives. Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.
