Overview:
Provide support to Relationship Managers, Workout Officers, Collection Specialists and Legal Liaisons. Research, gather, prepare and validate appropriate documentation associated with the workout strategy or SBA repurchase package. Interface with customers for resolution of payment issues, or general loan research. Provide oversight to ensure regulatory compliance.
Primary Responsibilities:
+ Act as liaison between the customer, Collection or Workout Officer, responding to questions and resolving problems.
+ Interact on a daily basis with all operational areas of the organization in order to review, research, correct and update customer records internally.
+ Upload new assignments to system of record, insuring all customer data and files are in place. Generate system maintenance requests in preparation for file hand-off/assignment.
+ Process outgoing and incoming documents for new loans set-up, validate and communicate across Workout and Commercial Loans.
+ Order appraisals and environmental reports. Initiate equity analysis based on results for Workout Officers.
+ Authorize or decline transactions through the overdraft process, ensuring compliance to lending authority levels.
+ Provide oversight to ensure regulatory and policy compliance as it relates to SCRA, BSA/AML, and Demand Letters.
+ Proactively contact workout customers in the preliminary stages of default.
+ Prepare management reporting to identify patterns of overdraft activity.
+ Coordinate daily payment processing, validate and batch in preparation for encoding.
+ Research, gather, prepare and validate appropriate documentation associated with the Workout strategy for legal and repossession referrals.
+ Assist with the preparation of the Small Business Association default package, preparing payment histories, obtain required documentation and provide ongoing research support throughout the claim process.
+ Research the remediation cases as required for BSA/AML; update documentation in appropriate system.
+ Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
+ Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
+ Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
+ Complete other related duties as assigned.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Interact with all levels of personnel across business lines (CAM Collections, Workout, Legal, and Recovery), BB Product, Regional Management, SBA, and CAM management staff.
Also interact with customers.
Work under limited supervision.
Education and Experience Required:
A combined minimum of 3 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years’ experience, with at least 1 year of business banking or commercial product experience.
Experience with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.
Detail oriented.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree.
Knowledge of M&T Bank systems.
M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $18.57 - $30.95 Hourly (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
