    Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Lead

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Shipping and Receiving Lead to oversee our Packing & Shipping department. This role involves packing and shipping customer orders to ensure accurate and timely delivery. The technician will also monitor and manage inventory of packing and shipping supplies, ensuring all procedures comply with established regulations.

    Responsibilities

    + Pack and ship lab products, ensuring compliance with SOPs and USDA regulations.

    + Serve as an authorized USDA sampler and manage test requests for non-licensed products.

    + Coordinate shipments with the Customer Service team and lab management.

    + Enter and verify inventory items and NetSuite entries for accuracy.

    + Ensure order accuracy, including lot numbers, quantities, and documentation.

    + Maintain proficiency in all relevant SOPs and required documentation.

    + Conduct physical inventory counts and manage documentation.

    + Transfer products between labs as needed.

    + Assist with documentation and shipment of custom orders.

    + Monitor equipment temperatures and ensure equipment functionality.

    + Maintain supply databases, suppliers, and supply costs.

    + Ensure proper rotation of supplies using first in, first out methodology.

    + Research new packing and shipping products and suppliers.

    + Maintain clean and safe work and storage areas, adhering to safety procedures.

    + Manage hazardous and international shipping procedures, complying with IATA and DOT regulations.

    + Support inventory management and assist with lab production scheduling.

    + Serve as a role model in time management, communication, and resource utilization.

    + Develop and maintain departmental Standard Operating Procedures.

    + Maintain training files and train employees on Packing & Shipping procedures.

    + Assist with manufacturing activities in the Lab Production department.

    + Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in inventory management, shipping and receiving, and ERP systems.

    + Experience in inventory control, material handling, cycle counts, labelling, and production.

    + Strong skills in data entry, supply chain management, and shipping and freight management software.

    + High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.) with 2-3 years of related experience.

    + Basic math skills.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.

    + No specific certification or licensure required.

    Work Environment

    The work environment involves regular exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level is usually quiet to moderate. Employees must regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities, including close vision, color vision, depth perception, and distance vision, are required.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Permanent position based out of Mansfield, Connecticut.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.

     

    AVS Bio is the worlds largest producer of Specific Pathogen Free eggs as well as laboratory products and services for the development and manufacture of Biologics. We are establishing a research group to expand our new product offerings across both human and animal health markets.
