    Job Title: Controls TechnicianJob Description

     

    As a Controls Technician, you will be responsible for interpreting PLC ladder logic and troubleshooting electrical control systems, including PLCs, robotics, servos, drives, and touch-screens using a laptop. You will work with brands such as Allen Bradley, GE, and Siemens.

    Responsibilities

    + Interpret and troubleshoot electrical control systems using PLC ladder logic.

    + Fabricate and wire electrical panels and terminal boxes.

    + Read and update electrical and pneumatic schematics.

    + Develop continuous improvement plans to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

    + Perform formal root cause analysis effectively.

    + Operate power shop tools and common hand tools.

    + Engage in continued growth and development to learn new technologies.

    + Stand and/or walk for 90% of an 8-hour day, including climbing ladders or steps.

    + Comply with Electrical Arc Flash Safety and Lock Out Tag Out training requirements.

    Essential Skills

    + 5 years of experience in industrial electrical controls or equivalent education.

    + Working knowledge of the National Electric Code.

    + Basic understanding of Ohm’s Law and Kirchhoff’s Law.

    + Solid PC computing skills.

    + Proficiency in PLC programming, electrical troubleshooting, and automation.

    + Experience with robotics, particularly Fanuc, Allen Bradley, and Siemens PLCs.

    + Ability to interpret electrical and control schematics.

    + Ability to navigate through software and ladder logic.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 2-year technical degree in electronics/PLC troubleshooting (Associates degree) is preferred.

    + Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

    + Ability to meet vision and hearing requirements.

    + Must pass a written and practical electrical test.

    Work Environment

    You will work in a large industrial manufacturing environment, covering over 1 million square feet. Personal protective equipment such as steel-toed boots and safety glasses is required. The role demands meeting specific vision and hearing standards while adhering to safety protocols.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oxford, North Carolina.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
