Job Title: Medical Assistant
Job Description
This full-time position requires escorting patients to and from exam rooms, recording patient data, preparing examination rooms, assisting physicians during procedures, and performing various administrative tasks in a busy medical office environment.
Responsibilities
+ Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as appropriate.
+ Record patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
+ Obtain all necessary patient records as required by physicians prior to treatment or procedures.
+ Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed.
+ Assist physicians with exams and procedures, which involves standing and taking notes.
+ Maintain all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
+ Answer patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
+ Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN.
+ Inform physicians of patient reschedules and no-shows.
+ Perform other administrative duties, such as typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, and reception.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency as a Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant.
+ Experience with Athena software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Previous experience as a Medical Assistant is required; certification is preferred but not mandatory.
Work Environment
The position is based in a busy medical office with a smaller team, including front office staff, medical assistants, a surgery scheduler, and physicians. The role requires working Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The environment is fast-paced and collaborative, with a focus on patient care and administrative efficiency.
Location
This position based out of Plano, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.
