    We are hiring a Back Office Float Medical Assistant!

    Job Description

    The back office float medical assistant will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. This role supports clinicians and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating the patient population. The medical assistant is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform quality team-based patient care under clinician supervision.

    + Support clinicians and care management teams with chronic disease management and patient examinations.

    + Conduct laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.

    + Take and record vital signs, with a preference for manual methods.

    + Assist in maintaining a safe and friendly environment for patients and staff.

    Essential Skills

    + Medical assisting experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a clinical/back office healthcare setting.

    + Phlebotomy experience is required.

    + Ability to take manual vitals.

    + Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

    + Active driver's license.

    + Strong communication skills to maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.

    + Ability to assess emergencies and act accordingly.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + High School diploma is required.

    + Medical Assistant diploma or Certification (CMA) or 3 years of Medical Assistant experience.

    + Experience with TriMed EMR is preferred.

    + Knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements.

    + Understanding of basic medical terminology.

    + Knowledge of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices.

    + Flexibility to float between multiple locations as patient queue demands.

    + Independent, responsible, and organized.

    Work Environment

    Work is conducted 100% onsite in a medical office setting with flexibility to float between various locations, including Hollywood, Emerald Woods, Lauderdale Lakes, Fort Lauderdale North, Fort Lauderdale South, and Sunrise, FL. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:45am to 5:00pm and every other Saturday from 7:45am to 12:00pm.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $42581.18 - $53769.17/yr.
