Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to our patients. The Medical Assistant will perform patient vital signs and assist with triage, reconcile medications, and ensure accurate documentation in patient records. This role supports providers by entering verbal and written orders into the EMR system, assists with scheduling follow-up appointments, and coordinates patient care. Additionally, the Medical Assistant will complete administrative tasks to support clinic metrics, including pain assessments, distress screenings, and other quality-related documentation. Effective communication with patients, providers, and clinical staff is essential to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Responsibilities

+ Perform patient vital signs and assist with triage.

+ Reconcile medications and ensure accurate documentation in patient records.

+ Support providers by entering verbal and written orders into the EMR system.

+ Assist with scheduling follow-up appointments and coordinating patient care.

+ Complete administrative tasks to support clinic metrics, including pain assessments and distress screenings.

+ Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and clinical staff to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Essential Skills

+ Medical assisting skills.

+ Patient care expertise.

+ Proficiency with electronic health records.

+ Experience in a fast-paced, busy outpatient setting.

+ Certified Medical Assistant certification.

+ Verified copy of high school diploma or GED.

+ Active BLS/CPR certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in a fast-paced environment.

+ Ability to float within different areas of the clinic.

Work Environment

This position is based in a clinic setting, working with adult oncology patients. The clinic operates from 8 am to 5:30 pm, and the Medical Assistant will work staggered shifts with other medical staff.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $24.00/hr.
