    Job Title: Engineer Technician I (Field Technician)

    Job Description

    This entry-level position is responsible for providing technical support to engineers on various projects and products. The role involves collecting, maintaining, organizing, and manipulating technical data as well as creating, assembling, modifying, and repairing prototypes. You will prepare engineering documentation, reports, drawings, and perform mathematical calculations according to engineering specifications. This position offers a learning environment where you will develop your job skills and become familiar with company policies.

    Responsibilities

    + Support engineers by collecting and organizing technical data.

    + Create and modify prototypes as needed.

    + Prepare engineering documentation, including reports, drawings, and schematics.

    + Perform mathematical calculations according to engineering specifications.

    + Analyze data following provided guidelines and recommend alternative solutions to problems.

    + Conduct tests and record data to aid in engineering analysis.

    + Interact daily with supervisors and peer groups to exchange factual information.

    + Coordinate with permit agencies, right-of-way specialists, system owners, and other relevant parties.

    + Review work provided by the client and assess project scope requirements.

    + Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews.

    + Conduct root cause analysis of outages and apply engineering principles for mitigation.

    + Travel to sites for inspections and return to the office for engineering design work.

    Essential Skills

    + High School diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate Degree or higher in engineering technology or GIS-related fields is preferred.

    + Willingness to perform both field and office work.

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    + Ability to work in outdoor environments.

    + Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Fielding or outdoor experience (internships, academic projects, etc) is preferred.

    + Previous experience with field data collection is preferred.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
