Job Title: Engineering TechnicianJob Description
As an Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for handling the calibration process, documenting current practices, and identifying inefficiencies or gaps. You will list and track all equipment and tools that require calibration, ensuring the tracking system is updated. Your role includes streamlining workflows, potentially automating parts of the process, and improving documentation. You will also determine where these assets should be stored or used, assign responsibility to department owners, and ensure calibrations are marked as complete. Additionally, you will review the current system, conduct risk assessments on overdue or missing calibrations, and bring any backlog up to date.
Responsibilities
+ Handle and document the calibration process.
+ Identify and track all calibrating assets.
+ Streamline and improve calibration workflows.
+ Determine physical locations for assets and assign department responsibility.
+ Review systems for overdue or missing calibrations and assess risks.
+ Update and maintain the calibration tracking system.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in calibration processes.
+ Problem management and process mapping skills.
+ Strong documentation writing abilities.
+ Familiarity with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing.
+ Knowledge of ISO standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering.
+ Entry-level position for a self-motivated and highly organized individual.
+ Ability to provide frequent updates and maintain open communication.
+ Clear and concise communication skills.
Work Environment
This role involves working with advanced calibration and tracking systems. The work environment is systematic and organized, with a focus on continuous improvement. Collaboration with department owners is key to ensure calibration processes are efficient and effective. This position offers growth opportunities, such as promotion to an associate engineer role with responsibilities in process validation for water and syringe production lines, including FDA and ISO compliance.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hartland, Wisconsin.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $31.25/hr.
