Description

We are looking for a skilled Payroll Accountant to join our client in Hayward, California. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to manage payroll processes for a workforce of approximately 500+ employees while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The role involves supporting financial reporting, reconciliations, and audits, requiring a detail-oriented individual with a strong grasp of payroll systems and accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

• Process and oversee payroll operations for 500+ employees, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.

• Prepare and record payroll-related journal entries in the general ledger.

• Conduct monthly reconciliations of payroll accounts to verify data integrity.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

• Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to address discrepancies and maintain accurate financial reporting.

• Utilize Excel for payroll analysis, including pivot tables and advanced functions like VLOOKUP.

• Provide audit support by compiling necessary documentation and reports.

• Identify and implement improvements to payroll processes to enhance efficiency.

Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).

• At least 3 years of experience in payroll accounting, preferably within the manufacturing industry.

• Proficiency with payroll systems such as UKG Pro or similar platforms.

• Solid understanding of payroll laws and accounting practices.

• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis.

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.

• Ability to work independently and effectively manage deadlines in a dynamic environment.
