    Job Title: Millwright

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Millwright to troubleshoot motors, transmissions, and conveyors, devising effective repair strategies. You will operate basic precision manual machine tools, such as Vertical Milling Machines, Engine Lathes, Hydraulic Presses, and Key Broaches. Additionally, you will use hoisting and lifting devices, like cranes and jacks, to position machinery and parts during installation, setup, and repair.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate precision measuring tools and disassemble, repair, and reassemble industrial components.

    + Install and replace various styles of bearings, bushings, and slides, adhering to proper guidelines and standards.

    + Perform pump repairs and rebuilds with precision alignments.

    + Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools, as well as welding equipment.

    + Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect irregularities.

    + Troubleshoot and repair bearings, hydraulics, pumps, valves, motors, and gearboxes.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in machining parts using milling machines and lathes.

    + Previous experience working in a paper mill.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Familiarity with hydraulic repairs and conveyor maintenance.

    Work Environment

     

    The role is based in a non-climate controlled facility with both indoor and outdoor work. You will work with brand new machines. Training is on the day shift from 6am-4:30/5pm for up to a year, after which you will move to 12-hour rotating shifts between day and night. You will have 15 days off a month due to the schedule. The typical workweek is 40-50 hours, with optional overtime. The company, with a Canadian-run culture, emphasizes employee happiness and a family atmosphere. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, a T-shirt, a safety vest, and PPE.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Ashland, Virginia.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $74880.00/yr.

     

    Direct Placement

     

    Starting pay is around 30-34/hr, but they can progress to 37-38/hr in 1 year!

     

    20K work of tools provided

     

    Profit Sharing

    450 million dollars invested into plant

    *Working on getting benefits package, but they do have really good benefits and they can ask for copy in interview*

     

    Workplace Type

     

    This is a fully onsite position in Ashland,VA.
